The maximum trading volume available per position on MT5 is limited by each Forex broker, but not by MetaQuotes.

It is normally around 50 lots(5,000,000 units) – 100 lots(10,000,000 units).

There is a easy way to find out the maximum trading volume on MT5.

To do that, please open the “Order” window on MT5 and increase the trading volume until the window goes grayed out.

As your Forex broker may have a limitation by each symbol on the platform, when the trading volume exceeds the limitation, the order window goes grayed out and you cannot place the order.

Please note that you are recommended to tryout in the real-trading account, but on a Demo account.

As the trading conditions can be different by trading account types available.

Too Large Volume

Even though, you may be possible to order a position with over 20 – 50 lots on MT5, it is highly possible that such order with large trading volume gets extreme slippage or simply rejected.

In the retail Forex market, it is normal that the available market liquidity is less than 20 lots or mush lesser at each market price.

You may find the market liquidity by referring to Market Depth window or Time&Sales window on MT5.
