Today, JustForex’s team of financial analysts has prepared a new review of events in the upcoming week.

These events can significantly affect the Forex market. Choose and track the ones that are most important to you.

Last week, the US dollar strengthened against the majors. The dollar index (#DX) increased by more than 1%. The Fed’s Chairman Janet Yellen said that a gradual increase in interest rates would be appropriate, despite weak inflation in the country. At the same time, some representatives of the FOMC took a cautious attitude on this issue. At the moment, the probability of tightening the Fed’s monetary policy in December this year rose to 81.7%.

In the upcoming trading week, we recommend you to pay attention to the following macroeconomic events and reports.

October 2nd, Monday

On Monday during the Asian trading session, a number of important statistical data on the Japanese economy from Tankan will be published at 02:50 (GMT+3:00).

We recommend you to pay attention to the following economic reports:

  • Indices of business activity in the manufacturing sectors of Germany and the Eurozone at 10:55 (GMT+3:00) and 11:00 (GMT+3:00);
  • The index of business activity in the manufacturing sector of the UK at 11:30 (GMT+3:00);
  • The Eurozone unemployment rate at 12:00 (GMT+3:00);
  • The index of business activity in the manufacturing sector of the US from ISM at 17:00 (GMT+3:00).

October 3rd, Tuesday

On Tuesday, the proceedings of the Reserve Bank of Australia will take place in the Asian trading session. At the moment, most experts believe that the regulator will leave the key interest rate at the previous level of 1.50%.

At 11:30 (GMT+3:00) the data on business activity in the construction sector in the UK will be released.

The financial markets of China and Germany will be closed due to the holiday.

October 4th, Wednesday

On Wednesday during the European trading session, a number of indices on business activity in Germany and the Eurozone will be published at 10:55 (GMT+3:00) and 11:00 (GMT+3:00), respectively.

At 11:30 (GMT+3:00) the index of business activity in the services sector of the Great Britain will appear.

We advise paying attention to statistics on the US economy:

  • A preliminary report on the labor market from ADP at 15:15 (GMT+3:00);
  • The index of business activity in the non-manufacturing sector from ISM at 17:00 (GMT+3:00);
  • Crude Oil Inventories at 17:30 (GMT+3:00). This report may have an impact on the dynamics of commodity currencies.

We also look forward to the speech of the ECB head Draghi and the Fed’s chairman Yellen.

October 5th, Thursday

On Thursday reports on the volume of retail sales and trade balance of Australia will appear at 03:30 (GMT+3:00) in the Asian trading session.

At 14:30 (GMT+3:00) we are waiting for the ECB meeting minutes on the monetary policy.

At 15:30 (GMT+3:00) the Statistics Canada will publish a report on the country’s trade balance.

We also recommend you to pay attention to the speeches of the FOMC representatives.

October 6th, Friday

On Friday, investors’ attention will be focused on the US and Canadian labor market reports at 15:30 (GMT+3:00). Most experts expect deterioration in the key indicators.

At 17:00 (GMT+3:00) the index of business activity in Canada from Ivey will be published.
