Question: How to change password of MT5 (MetaTrader5) account on WebTrader?
Until December 2016, traders couldn’t change the password of MT5 trading account directly on Web-based terminal, but now it is possible after MetaQutoes’s updates.
You can now change the password of your MT5 trading account in 2 different ways.
1. Use a Client Portal of your Broker
It is often that a Forex broker offers its own API based client portal where you can do many account management activities including changing password.
It may be easier to change password through the client portal of your broker.
In this case, please follow the specified instruction of your Forex broker.
2. From MetaTrader5 Trading Platform
In order to change the password, you need to login to your trading account first.
Then please go to “tools” and “Options”, then you will see the below window pops up.
Now, by clicking the left-side button “Change”, you can change either Master Password or Investor Password. (or both)
By changing the password directly on the trading platform, you can also make sure that your Forex broker doesn’t know your updated password.
