There is no limitation of issuance of Ether itself.

At the beginning, 60 million ether created to contributors of the presale and 12 Million were created to the development fund.

Now, up to 18 million ether can be mined every year.

The amount of Ether issuance is fixed.

Through mining, 5 Ethers are created every block, and 2 – 3 Ethers are sometimes sent to another miner if they were also able to find a solution but his block wasn’t included (called uncle/aunt reward).

Will there be unlimited of Ether?

Yes, but theoretically, the relative inflation is decreased every year and at some point the rate of new tokens created every year would reach the average amount lost yearly (by misuse, accidental key lost, the death of holders etc).

Ethereum foundation expects that it will eventually reach an equilibrium.
