Question: How to enable/activate Proxy Server for MT5 (MetaTrader5) trading platform?
In order to enable your proxy server, you need to login to your trading account first on your MT5 trading platform.
Then go to “Tools”→”Options”, then the below window will pop up.
Now you just need to check the box of “Enable Proxy Server”, and go to “Proxy…” on the right hand side.
Then you need to type the IP address and port number of your Proxy server and Login ID and Password.
You also need to select the type of your Proxy sever from the drop-down menu which are HTTP, SOCKS4 or SOCKS5.
You may test your Proxy server if it is successfully connected. If there is a problem, the system will notify you with some details.
If there is a problem with the connection of your Proxy server, please consult your system administrator or internet provider for proxy setup details.
