SSL certificate authentication needs to be enabled on trading server’s side, but not from trading accounts.

Thus, if your Forex broker or the trading server for your trading account doesn’t require the secure SSL certificate connection, then the authentication process is not available for your account.

If your trading server has enabled the SSL certificate authentication, then you will be asked to setup the password to protect the SSL certificate in the hard disk, at the first login.

If there is no such authentication process required, then you can simply login to your trading account with the following credentials.

  • Account Number
  • Account Password
  • Trading Server Name (IP address)

It is actually rare to see a Forex broker with trading servers protected with SSL certificate.

Even if the authentication process isn’t enabled for your trading server, the connection between MT5 and users are secured and encrypted with standard procedures.
