CEX.IO strongly recommends you to enable Two-Factor Authentication on your account.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is the most advanced security system, which adds an extra protection to your account, preventing unauthorized access.
By setting up the 2FA, your login process will be secured as follows:
- Enter your CEX.IO username and password as usual.
- Then, you’ll be asked for a code that will be sent to you via text, voice call, or a mobile app.
- Congratulations! You are successfully logged in to your account.
There are mainly 2 ways to setup Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
Smartphone app (recommended)
2FA code will be generated by your smartphone app “Google Authenticator”, available for iOS, Android and Windows phone.
To enable this function, please login to your CEX.IO account and follow the steps below.
- Download and install
- Scan QR as displayed
Sending 2FA code via SMS or phone call.
Do do this, please select the country code and enter your phone number, then CEX.IO will send you a 2FA code to verify your phone number.
Keep 2FA disabled (NOT RECOMMENDED!)
If you don’t setup the 2FA, your account will be insecure and can be easily hacked. All your actions on CEX.IO will be confirmed only via email.
If your email or password are compromised, it can result in loss of your funds or your personal data. This can be avoided with enabled 2FA.
*You can always change your decision and enable 2FA in your Profile’s Security settings.
