Question: Is trading of Cryptocurrency regulated in EU? What is the regulation for that?
There is no specific EU regulatory frameworks regarding to trading in Cryptocurrencies(virtual currencies) and its related products.
There is also no coverage by MiFID nor any protections by the Investors Compensation Fund.
As they are new financial markets and its risks and structures to be assessed by each regulatory body, new regulations and directives are to be published in the future anytime soon.
Meanwhile, CySEC also mentions that virtual currencies are not appropriate for all investors.
