Question: How many push notification messages can I send from MT4 and MT5? Any limitations?
Push Notification message sent from MT5 trading platform is a very convenient tool to keep yourself updated though, there are also some limitations to the tool.
As long as the messages fit in the rules, the push notifications are never lost and you will certainly receive it on your mobile devices.
The below are the some limitations of MT5’s Push Notification tool.
- One push notification message cannot be over 255 characters. You cannot retrieve the messages after the limits.
- No more then 1 message per 0.5 second
- No more 10 messages per minute
Also, if you are not using any EAs or Scripts but only the built-in push notification tool of MT5, then you will only get the notification of successfully executed trades.
In this case, the push notification will not be sent for any other situations on the platform including errors of trade execution.
If you like to get notifications of situations other than when a trade executed successfully, the MQL5 language provides a special function “SendNotification” allowing MQL5 applications to send push notifications to the MetaQuotes ID specified in the platform settings.
