If your trading server doesn’t require SSL certificate for secure connection, then you can use the server and login to your trading accounts with the standard authentication process.

The required information(login credentials) for logging into your trading account to the server is as follows:

  • Trading account number
  • Trading account password
  • Trading server (or IP address)

If the trading server requires authentication with SSL certificate, then you will also need to type in the password to access to the SSL certificate in the below screen.

Actually, many MT5 trading servers do not require SSL certificate for logging into trading accounts.

As SSL certificate needs to be set on the server’s side, if your Forex broker or the trading server doesn’t require this authentication process, then there is basically no choice but login to your MT5 account with the standard authentication process.

SSL certificate does secure the connection between traders and the server and also set extra credentials to login, but MetaQuotes also ensures that the data sent to the trading servers are secured and protected with standard encryption.
