Question: What is "Return" fill policy of MT4/MT5 trading platforms?
“Return” policy is one of the 3 fill policies available on MT5.
This policy is only used for market orders (Buy and Sell), limit and stop limit orders and only for the symbols with Market or Exchange execution.
If filled partially, a market or limit order with the remaining volume is not canceled, and is processed further.
On MetaTader5 trading platform, there are 3 different “Fill Policies” available.
- Fill or Kill (FoK)
- Immediate or Cancel (IoC)
- Return
You can choose which “Fill Policy” to apply on your order by selecting one from the drop-down box in the “Order” window.
*Some Forex brokers restrict the available “Fill Policy” on the platform, and you cannot select one from them.
*The available Fill Policies are restricted by the type of Execution models of your Forex broker’s trading servers.
