What is “Starter Leverage” of CySEC licensed Forex brokers? How does that affect my trading?

CySEC, the main financial regulatory Authority in Cyprus has announced the new regulation in 2016, which includes several changed conditions of Leverage, and usage of bonuses.

In terms of leverage, CySEC is going to set the “Starter Leverage” which will limit the maximum leverage for all inexperienced investors, up to 1:50.

The “Starter Leverage” 1:50 will be applied only to investors with less experiences, thus if you pass some appropriate test provided by the broker, you can trade with even larger leverage following the rules of the broker.

*Some brokers may not apply “Starter Leverage” but limit the maximum transaction instead, for inexperienced investors.

This regulation change won’t apply to trading accounts which are opened already, but applies to account newly opened after February 2017.
