“Depth of Market” board on MT5, is used to see the available market liquidity at certain prices.

The board below is used to see the Market Liquidity, and the “Market Liquidity” is one very important aspect when you trade Forex (or any other financial instruments in the world).

What is “Market Liquidity”?

There is always a buyer and seller when a transaction is made. For example, if you like to buy EURUSD, there needs to be someone else who wants to sell EURUSD.

There are thousands or millions of orders waiting to be executed in a financial market, and it is collectively known as “Market Liquidity”.

Every single financial markets have their own “Market Liquidity”.

In the “Depth of Market” board, you can see how many orders(liquidity) available in the market at each specific price.

As in you are seeing the “Market Liquidity” and its depth by numbers, on the board.

If you like to buy 20 lots of EUR/USD when there is no such volume displayed in the sell section of the “Depth of Market” board, then your order will get significant slippage or rejected.

Without the market liquidity or its depth, you cannot transact any orders.

You can also find out why your order is getting slippage or rejected by checking the depth of market.
