Question: Why the "Time" of each symbol (instrument) is different in Market Watch on MT5?
The “Time” column in the “Market Watch” window of MT5, shows “the last quote arrival time”.
So it may be different by symbols if there is a delay on quoting on the server’s side or the platform’s side.
For your information, it is quite normal that there is a second or a few difference by each symbol.
If the contract of the symbol has been expired and it is not getting any new price quotes, then the “time” may show very out-dated time than others.
If you see much bigger delays of “time” in the Market Watch, the delay has been caused due to slow connection or speed of process of your computer.
In this case, you may try followings to improve the connection quality.
- Decrease the number of Bars
- Close any unnecessarily apps or programs on your PC
- Disable all unnecessary indicators and EAs
- Close extra price charts or other data windows
MetaTrader5 is a RAM consuming software, and it is possible that the activity of MT5 itself is delaying the processing speed of your PC.
You may note that if the “Time”, the “the last quote arrival time”, isn’t the latest time, then the market price displayed on your MT5 is also out-dated.
This could cause slippage, re-quotes or order rejections.
