Long Live the Chancellor! Angela Merkel Has Won Her 4th Term in Office.
Angela Merkel emerged victorious in the German Federal Elections on Sunday! Merkels CDU party (“Blacks”) collected 33% of 70 million voters, while their main rival SPD (“Reds”), led by Martin Schulz, remained only at 20.5% of the votes.
While having Angela Merkel in office for a 4th term, indicates stability for German and European economies, the markets were not very optimistic after the far-right groups gained significant strength in parliament.
Now investors worldwide are focused on the coalition Merkel will form, hoping that the centralist-approach will continue.
Will Merkel form pro-EU coalition, or surprise the world by adapting to far-right trend?
