Jackson Hole is an annual symposium held in the United States due to be held from August 24th – 26th. This year’s theme is “Fostering a dynamic economy”.

The meeting is often called “Davos for bankers” since those who are invited are key global players in finance. They include finance ministers of many countries, central bankers, highly respected academics and major players in the financial market.

This year Janet Yellen, Chair of the Federal Reserve, Mario Draghi, President of the European Central Bank and German Finance Minister Schauble are among those who will attend.

Yellen and Draghi are due to speak on August 25th and their words will have an impact on the markets as has been the case in the past.

Volatility in gold prices and currencies such as USD/EUR, USD/GBP and USD/JPY currency pairs are to be expected.
