MetaTrader MT4 and MT5 removed from the Apple App Store
Why Apple has deleted MetaTrader MT4 and MT5 from the App Store?
The Metatrader 4 (MT4) for iOS is not available to download from the Apple App Store.
This only affects traders who wished to download the app on their iPhones or iPads.
Existing clients with the platforms already downloaded on their Apple devices can continue to use the iOS version.
New iPhone and iPad users can trade on the MT4 Webtrader. The web platform allows you to open and close positions without downloading any software.
Android users remain unaffected as the MT4 app is available on the Google Play Store.
Why MetaTrader apps removed from the App Store?
In recent times, owners of Apple devices will have wondered: “why can’t I find the MetaTrader MT4 and MT5 apps in the App Store?”.
It might seem strange, almost nonsense, but the MT4 and MT5 platforms are no longer available for download in the App Store.
This sudden removal by Apple of the most used trading platforms in the world has caused quite a few dissensions among traders for various reasons.
One among all is that the thing has not been made public, no warning, no post, no official release from both companies (both Apple and MetaQuotes), the MT4 and MT5 apps have simply vanished into thin air.
We would like to remind you that the cancellation will not affect the trading of the apps previously installed on the IOS devices but by doing an update they will automatically be rendered unusable.
According to reliable sources, the cancellation of MetaQuotes apps was caused by the strong friction between Western countries and Russia.
Apple overnight, despite everyone being unaware of what was happening, has provided for the definitive cancellation of the trading apps MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 (MT4 and MT5) from the App Store.
Such an immediate operation most likely carried out on the basis of the heavy sanctions of Western countries against Russia which has long since invaded Ukraine.
In addition to this, Apple to contribute to the sanctioning maneuver implemented by the Western states, has proceeded to block the sale of all products and the suspension of any financial service, including ApplePay.
Another sore point that could have caused this so drastic measure by Apple concerns the massive presence in the Store of “bogus” applications that were passed off as MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 (MT4 and MT5).
To deal with repeated complaints from customers, dissatisfied with the service rendered, Apple urged the company MetaQuotes (creator of the original MT4 and MT5 products) inviting them to solve the problem as soon as possible, but this would never happen.
As a result, Apple has taken steps to delete both the bogus and original apps.
MetaQuotes Software Corp., creator of the MT4 and MT5 platforms, is a Russian software company with offshore registration in Cyprus.
A detail by no means negligible that could contribute to the event.
Unfortunately, what happened will create many problems for millions of traders who own Apple devices.
Being by far the most used trading platforms in the world and offered for trading by thousands of online brokers, you will have to find the most solution.
On the contrary, as far as Android devices are concerned, everything remains unchanged.
Both the MT5 and MT4 apps and the desktop versions of the software are available for download at any time on Google Play.
At the moment there is no information of any kind regarding the affair. MetaQuotes did not publish any press releases.
We will keep you informed in case there are any updates.
