Today JustForex’s team of financial analysts has prepared a new review of events in the upcoming week.

These events can significantly affect the Forex market.

Choose and track the ones that are most important to you.

Last week, the US dollar strengthened against currency majors. The dollar index (#DX) again approached the annual extremes. Investors continue to assess the risks of a trade war. The US are going to introduce additional duties on goods from China $ 200 billion worth. Earlier, Washington introduced import duties on goods from China for a total amount of $ 34 billion. As expected, the Bank of Canada increased the key interest rate by 25 basis points to 1.50%.

In the upcoming trading week, we recommend you to pay attention to the following macroeconomic events and reports.

July 16th, Monday

On Monday, we expect important economic reports:

  • Data on GDP and manufacturing production in China at 05:00 (GMT+3:00);
  • Statistics on retail sales in the US at 15:30 (GMT+3:00).

The financial markets of Japan will be closed due to the holiday.

July 17th, Tuesday

On Tuesday, the news feed will be very eventful.

In the Asian trading session, data on inflation of New Zealand and the minutes of the last RBA meeting on monetary policy will be released at 01:45 (GMT+3:00) and 04:30 (GMT+3:00), respectively.

At 11:30 (GMT+3:00) a report on the labor market in the UK will be published.

We also recommend you to pay attention to the speech by the Fed’s head, Mr. Powell.

July 18th, Wednesday

On Wednesday, investors will follow the statistics:

  • Reports on inflation in the UK and the Eurozone at 11:30 (GMT+3:00) and 12:00 (GMT+3:00), respectively;
  • Data on the real estate market in the US at 15:30 (GMT+3:00).

We also recommend you to pay attention to the speech by the Fed’s head, Mr. Powell.

July 19th, Thursday

On Thursday, we expect the statistics on the trade balance of Japan and the labor market in Australia at 02:50 (GMT+3:00) and 04:30 (GMT+3:00), respectively.

At 11:30 (GMT+3:00), the National Statistical Office of Great Britain will publish a report on retail sales for June.

At 15:30 (GMT+3:00) we expect the index of production activity from the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia.

July 20th, Friday

The trading week will end with the publication of reports on inflation and retail sales in Canada at 15:30 (GMT+3:00).
