Today, JustForex team of financial analysts has prepared a new review of events in the upcoming week.

These events can significantly affect the Forex market.

Choose and track the ones that are most important to you.

Last week, the US dollar strengthened against the major currencies. The dollar index (#DX) increased by more than 1.3%. The yield of 10-year US government bonds approached the 2013 high. The central banks of Australia, New Zealand and the UK left key interest rates unchanged. Regulators plan to adhere to the current monetary policy rate. In the near future, the Bank of England may consider raising interest rates.

In the upcoming trading week, we recommend you to pay attention to the following macroeconomic events and reports.

February 12th, Monday

On Monday, the news feed will be fairly calm. We recommend you to pay attention to the OPEC monthly report.

The financial markets of Japan will be closed due to the holiday.

February 13th, Tuesday

On Tuesday, the attention of financial market participants will be focused on the report on inflation in the UK at 11:30 (GMT+2:00). Experts expect that in January the consumer price index will slow to 2.9% (year on year).

At 23:35 (GMT+2:00) the data on weekly crude oil inventories in the US from the American Petroleum Institute will appear.

February 14th, Wednesday

On Wednesday, we expect the publication of important economic reports:

  • The GDP data for Japan at 01:50 (GMT+2:00);
  • Statistics on the GDP of Germany and the Eurozone at 09:00 (GMT+2:00) and at 12:00 (GMT+2:00), respectively;
  • Reports on inflation and retail sales in the US at 15:30 (GMT+2:00);
  • Crude oil inventories in the US at 17:30 (GMT+2:00).

February 15th, Thursday

On Thursday, investors’ attention will be focused on the following statistics:

  • A report on the Australian labor market at 02:30 (GMT+2:00);
  • The Eurozone trade balance at 12:00 (GMT+2:00);
  • The number of jobless claims in the US at 15:30 (GMT+2:00);
  • The index of production activity from the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia at 15:30 (GMT+2:00);
  • The producer price index in the USA at 15:30 (GMT+2:00).

China’s financial markets will be closed due to the holiday.

February 16th, Friday

On Friday, the National Statistical Office of Great Britain will publish a report on retail sales at 11:30 (GMT+2:00).

At 15:30 (GMT+2:00) we expect statistics on trade and real estate market in the US.

China’s financial markets will be closed due to the holiday.
