The German DAX was able to edge out marginal gains yesterday as positive news for oil boosted equity markets around the world.

The COVID-19 pandemic created global anxiety.

This is quite understandable as businesses have closed down, salaries have been cut, and the countries’ economies have suffered a lot.

The uncertainty turns up the pressure.

The US President Donald Trump is insisting on opening economy as soon as possible.

He had enough from the coronavirus and wants his strong economy back to ensure his re-election in 2020.

Here are some of the measures that the US administration is considering for getting the economy back to normal:

• Rapid and widespread testing to track infected people.
• Tests on healthy people who might have been exposed to COVID-19 to see if they developed antibodies.
• Cooperating with companies to set guidelines on how to restart operations.

The sooner America and the rest of the word get the virus under control, the better for the risk-sensitive assets, such as S&P 500, AUD, and oil.
