Facebook, Inc. (FB) will be reporting on:
Wednesday, April 25th, 2018 after the US market close
Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently faced a Congressional hearing following the revelation that data from 87 million Facebook users was improperly accessed by data firm Cambridge Analytica.
There is one question that has particularly impressed investors:
“Who is your biggest competitor?” Zuckerberg seemed to struggle…
with the committee suggesting that Facebook might be a Monopoly!
The Forecast
Facebook’s current market capitalization is around $485 billion, and the company generated only $40 billion of revenue last year.
The company has to keep generating extraordinary levels of growth to justify that valuation.
FB generates money mainly from ads (98.5% in Q4 2017). Last quarter, the average price per ad increased 43%.
That is a result that anyone would want to reach; but many analysts believe that FB has now reached a peak and growth will slow.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg sold 152,700 shares of stock in a transaction on Thursday, March 22nd.
The shares were sold at an average price of $166.61, for a total transaction of $25,441,347.00.
This is an indicative sign, potentially more eloquent than Cambridge Analytica, fake news or even restrictive neck-wear that Facebook may be choking.
