A rather busy week is in store for the U.S. markets which will open to a short trading week.

The U.S. markets are closed on account of Memorial Day.

However, later in the week, focus will shift to the ADP’s private payrolls report.

The median estimates point to an increase of 186k jobs for the month of May.

This marks a slower pace of job gains compared to the 204k jobs that were created from the private sector.

Later in the week, on Friday, the official payrolls report will be released.

Economists polled forecast that the U.S. unemployment rate will be left unchanged at 3.9% in May.

The number of jobs created during the month is expected to see 190k jobs being added during the month.

This marks a slightly higher number compared to 164k jobs that were created in April.

Still, investors will be focusing on the average pace of wage growth.

The average hourly earnings are forecast to rise 0.3% on the month in April.

Later in the day, on Friday the U.S. ISM manufacturing PMI data is expected to show a rebound in activity.

Economists forecast that ISM manufacturing PMI increased to 58.2 in May.

This marks a stronger pace of activity of 57.3 that was registered in the month before in April.

The increase in index comes amid higher activity from the regional Fed manufacturing index.
