Question: What type of Proxy Server is supported on MT5 and MT4 (MetaTrader) trading platforms?
Currently in December 2018, MetaTrader5 and MetaTrader4 trading platform supports following 3 types of Proxy servers.
- HTTP
- SOCKS4
- SOCKS5
In HTTP mode, NTLM authentication is also supported.
In order to setup your Proxy server enabled on your MT5, you will need the following details of the Proxy Server.
- IP Address
- Port Number
- Proxy Server Type
- ID
- Password
If your setting is incorrect, the error message with some details will popup after testing it.
