As of October 2017, MetaQuotes(the developer of both Mt4 and MT5 trading platforms) will cease the technical support of platforms for outdated operational systems.

In case you have installed MT4 and MT5 trading platforms before the 1st of October 2017, you can still continue using the platforms.

You might face technical malfunctions or some kind of disturbance as the technical support ends, but it will be your responsibility to take care of the platforms.

The end of technical support by MetaQuotes, will mainly cause following situations.

1. Users won’t receive updates of the trading platforms(both MT4 and MT5).
2. Users won’t be able to install trading platforms(both MT4 and MT5).

The above conditions will only apply to devices with outdated operational systems including Windows XP, 2003 and Vista. And change will take effect from the 1st of October, 2017.
