Today, JustForex’s team of financial analysts has prepared a new review of events in the upcoming week. These events can significantly affect the Forex market. Choose and track the ones that are most important to you.
On Friday, August 4, the US Department of Labor published a positive report on the labor market, that caused a sharp demand for the American currency. The dollar index (#DX) finished the trading session in a positive zone (+0.77%). In July, 209,000 jobs were created in the non-agricultural sector of the United States. Market expectations were at the level of 183,000. Average hourly earnings increased by 0.3%. The unemployment rate fell to 4.3%. This statistics reinforced the expectations of another increase in the Fed’s interest rate this year among the financial markets participants.
In the upcoming trading week, we recommend you to pay attention to the following economic reports and events.
August 7th, Monday
On Monday, reports on inflation will be published in New Zealand and Switzerland – 06:00 (GMT+3:00) and 10:15 (GMT+3:00).
We also recommend to pay attention to the speeches of the FOMC representatives Bullard and Kashkari – 18:45 (GMT+3:00) and 20:25 (GMT+3:00), respectively.
Financial markets in Canada will be closed due to the holiday.
August 8th, Tuesday
On Tuesday, during the Asian trading session, the National Bureau of Statistics of China will publish data on the trade balance of the country. This statistics can have a significant impact on the dynamics of the Australian dollar.
The number of open vacancies in the labor market JOLTS – 17:00 (GMT+3:00).
August 9th, Wednesday
On Wednesday, we recommend you to pay attention to the following economic reports:
- Consumer price index in China – 04:30 (GMT+3:00)
- Statistics on the labor market in the US – 15:30 (GMT+3:00)
- Crude oil reserves in the US – 17:30 (GMT+3:00). This report can have a significant impact on the dynamics of commodity currencies
August 10th, Thursday
On Thursday, the meeting of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand will be in the focus of attention. At the moment, most experts believe that the regulator will leave the interest rate at the previous level of 1.75%. The central bank will publish an overview of the current macroeconomic situation.
We also recommend to pay attention to the following statistics:
- Production volume in the manufacturing industry in the UK – 11:30 (GMT+3:00);
- Producer price index in the US – 15:30 (GMT+3:00);
At 17:00 (GMT+3:00) the FOMC member Dudley will give a speech.
August 11th, Friday
On Friday, investors’ attention will be focused on the report on inflation in the US – 15:30 (GMT+3:00). Experts expect that the base consumer price index for July will increase by 0.2%.
At 16:40 (GMT+3:00) and 18:30 (GMT+3:00) we expect the speeches of the FOMC representatives Kaplan and Kashkari.
