Many traders have this “Login Problem” when they start investing in Forex & CFDs.

More than 90% of their problems should be solved by checking the following points.

1. Trading Platform is different

If you have MT5 of different Forex brokers or the original MT5 from MetaQuotes website, you are recommended to install the one provided from your broker.

Sometimes you can login to your MT5 account only through the specified trading platform provided from the broker.

2. Case Sensitive

Fields in the Login window is case sensitive.

Make sure that you are typing right including capital and small letters.

You may also want to try copying and pasting them to the field directly if you haven’t.

3. Space in the field

Even if you are copying the login credentials, you may have added extra space in the field by mistake.

For logging into MT5 trading accounts, there is never a space included in the login credentials.

Please make sure that you are not copying extra space into the fields.

4. Server isn’t connected

For some reason, your server may not be connected. If your server is offline, you cannot connect to it.

You can find out which server is connected and which one is not(and also the latency in ms), by checking the list of trading servers.

To check them, please go to “file”→”Open an Account” and you can see all available trading servers. You can also add new ones if you know more servers.

5. Choosing different server name

Sometimes you can login to your trading account by selecting different server names than the previously allocated one.

Your broker could have updated the server names or there was a system glitch in the trading server.

It is possible that your trading account is also connected with other trading servers at the same time.
