From within any “Chart window”, first either select from the dropdown list of available “Drawing Tools” which is the fourth options from the left side of the second row.
For example, on that drop-down list the first option is a “Trend Line – Segment” which enables you to draw a trend line over a given segment of the chart.
Upon selecting the desired drawing tool the mouse pointer within the chart window will appear as a small pen/pencil which is ready to activate from any point on the chart.
In the above example using the “Trend Line Segment”, once the mouse is left-clicked to start the drawing – and will automatically drag across the chart – to any point until you left-click again.
Tip of drawing a Trend Line
When using certain drawing tools, Keep in mind that depending on whether the “Freehand”, “High or Low”, or “Close” field is selected on the next box over towards the left (third item from left on main charting options row), this will determine where you will be drawing the trend line on the chart. For example the high/low will only start and end lines at either highs and/or lows on the chart (whereas freehand you can draw anywhere).
These features enable greater precision when needed.
