Today, JustForex’s team of financial analysts has prepared a new review of events in the upcoming week.
These events can significantly affect the Forex market. Choose and track the ones that are most important to you.
Last week, trades on major currency majors were very active. The dollar index (#DX) moved away from the annual highs and closed in the negative zone. Investors evaluate the comments by the Fed’s head at a symposium in Jackson Hole. The official supported the further gradual tightening of monetary policy. At the same time, the head of the Federal Reserve System is concerned about the lack of inflation acceleration and the state of the real estate market. After two-days negotiations, the US and China did not come to any agreement.
In the upcoming trading week, we recommend you to pay attention to the following macroeconomic events and reports.
August 27th, Monday
On Monday, the news feed will be fairly calm.
At 11:00 (GMT+3:00), the IFO business climate index will be published in Germany.
Financial markets in the UK will be closed due to the holiday.
August 28th, Tuesday
On Tuesday, the attention of financial market participants will be focused on economic reports from the US:
- CB consumer confidence index at 15:30 (GMT+3:00);
- Weekly crude oil inventories according to the API at 23:30 (GMT+3:00)
August 29th, Wednesday
On Wednesday, we expect important statistics on the US economy:
- Preliminary data on the country’s GDP for the second quarter at 15:30 (GMT+3:00);
- The index of pending sales in the real estate market at 17:00 (GMT+3:00).
August 30th, Thursday
On Thursday, investors will evaluate the following economic reports:
- Statistics on the labor market in Germany at 10:55 (GMT+3:00);
- Data on personal spendings in the US at 15:30 (GMT+3:00);
- A report on GDP of Canada at 15:30 (GMT+3:00).
August 31st, Friday
On Friday, we expect a number of indicators on economic activity in China at 04:00 (GMT+3:00).
At 12:00 (GMT+3:00), the consumer price index will be published in the Eurozone.
