OTP stands for One Time Password on MetaTrader5.

For security reasons, you can set the One Time Password by using mobile iOS or Android devices and connect the application to your live account.

Nomally you will be required to put only 3 login credentials to login to your trading account which are:

1. Account number
2. Account password
3. Server name(or IP address)

But enabling the One Time Password for your trading account, you will need to type the specified one time password to login from the next time, as below.

To enable this option, you will first need to download mobile version of MT5 into your iOS(iPad or iPhone) or Android phone.

Then, go to “Settings” and select “OTP”.

And, go to “Bind to account”. Now you will be asked to type in the login credentials of the trading account you like to bind.

By enabling this option here, your desktop version of MT5 trading account will require the one time password which will be generated through the MT5 application on your mobile device.

If you like to disable this option, you just need to uncheck the “Bind” option in your mobile device.

*Please note that you can only login to your trading account on PC if you have the mobile device with MT5 application from the next time by enabling this security option.
