MetaTrader5 trading platform shows prices in a mode of “2 way prices”.

The one is “Ask” price which is the price you need to refer when buying the product.

Another one is “Bid” price which is the price you need to refer when selling the product.

There needs to be 2 different prices, because there is a “Spread” creating the gap of two prices so Forex brokers or market liquidity providers can earn commissions.

The spread can be shown by adding the “Spread” column to the “Market Watch” window as below.

The column “!” shows the spread in points.

So if it shows 10, then the current spread is 1 pip.

Please note that in any price charts, they only show the “Bid” price as it is the base for MetaTrader5.

So you need to be careful when ordering a “buy” position, because the order will be executed at higher price of the price you can see in the price chart.

You can also show “Ask” price line in price charts, by going to “Properties” → “Show” → “Show ask price line”.
